What we do

We build training around the mission, not the other way around. Honeybee develops curriculum, assembles experienced cadre, teaches the coursework, and helps organizations turn instruction into durable operational capability.

Core Training Areas

Training for the people doing the work.

Coursework can be delivered as focused instruction, tailored programs, train-the-trainer engagements, or part of a broader workforce development initiative.

01

Cyber Intelligence & Investigations

OSINT, online investigations, threat identification, intelligence analysis, investigative workflows, collection methodology, and reporting.

02

Digital Evidence & Forensics

Evidence identification, collection, preservation, documentation, chain of custody, forensic workflows, tooling, and interpretation.

03

Cybercrime Investigation & Prosecution

Cybercrime investigative methods, digital evidence, investigator-prosecutor collaboration, case development, and presentation of technical evidence.

04

Cybersecurity & SOC Operations

Role-based training for SOC analysts, incident responders, threat intelligence personnel, supervisors, and cybersecurity leaders.

Workforce Development

From a course to a capability.

Honeybee supports organizations that need more than off-the-shelf training. We can help design the curriculum, build the instructor cadre, deliver the program, and support continued development after the classroom closes.

01

Design

Curricula, courses, exercises, labs, instructor guides, student materials, assessments, and continuing education.

02

Tailor

Coursework shaped around mission requirements, workforce maturity, technology, legal environment, regional threats, and operating realities.

03

Deliver

A professional national and international cadre of experienced practitioners and subject-matter experts.

04

Develop

Mentorship, train-the-trainer programs, exercises, follow-on instruction, and continuing professional development.

Why Honeybee

Experience worth sharing.

Our cadre brings decades of combined experience across the fields we teach. Honeybee has a strong preference for experienced practitioners, including military veterans and professionals with deep mentorship and instructional backgrounds.

Technical expertise is only half the job. Our instructors are selected for their ability to transfer knowledge, develop people, and turn complex subject matter into practical skills that can be used in the field.

Practitioner expertise + mentorship + mission context That combination is the heart of the Honeybee model.

Leadership

Charles DeBarber

Founder & Managing Director

Charles DeBarber is a cybersecurity, intelligence, and investigations professional with more than 20 years of experience and a career-long emphasis on training, mentorship, and workforce development.

His experience spans military and national security environments, the Department of Defense, state organizations, and local and federal law enforcement. Charles was also nationally featured on CBS's Hunted, where he served as the program's Lead Cyber Intelligence Analyst.

Throughout his career, Charles has focused on turning complex technical and investigative disciplines into practical skills professionals can use in the field. He has trained and mentored personnel across cybersecurity, intelligence, investigations, and related mission areas, with a particular passion for developing coursework that is rigorous, engaging, and memorable. He believes serious subject matter does not require lifeless instruction, and that a little personality and humor can make difficult concepts considerably easier to learn.

Outside of his professional work, Charles is deeply involved in nonprofit service. His work with the National Center for Victims of Internet and Cyber Exploitation (NCVIC) focuses on combating online sexual exploitation, human trafficking, and supporting digital victim advocacy.

He is also a longtime beekeeper and volunteer with Baltimore's nonprofit Filbert Street Garden, where he has helped raise more than $1 million since 2016 to support the organization's work.

Charles founded Honeybee Training Group around a simple idea: organizations build lasting capability by investing in their people. Honeybee brings experienced practitioners, thoughtful curriculum, practical mentorship, and engaging instruction together to help build stronger workforces.
